On January 4th, 2022, PepsiCo filed a trademark for Baja Mango Gem titled "MTN DEW BAJA MANGO GEM," along with other potential flavor names such as Astronova and Hypergalaxy. Its tagline was " DEW with a Blast of Natural & Artificial Pineapple Flavor." While Maui Burst tends to shift to a more natural Pineapple flavor, Baja Gold tends to lean toward the more artificial Pineapple flavor.
